About Us Downriver Grill’s fundamental desire to define our Eastern Washington food scene around fresh, local & seasonal ingredients stays steady & strong. Opened in June of 2003 by Chef Jonathan Sweatt and his family, the Downriver Grill has been a favorite destination restaurant for Spokane ever since. Our focus has always been on supporting the Audubon neighborhood and local community, and offering the best possible quality and value to its customers. The menu has featured local items like beef from the Northwest, potatoes from Washington, local wine, beer, spirits and desserts made from Greenbluff fruit. Chef Juli Norris became an owner of Downriver Grill in 2011, bringing her catering and restaurant expertise to the team. With a focus on supporting the Spokane community, our menu offers local and seasonal specials, flavorful sauces from scratch, delicious sandwiches, the best in fresh seafood and steaks, and decadent house-made desserts. Guests can also choose from local micro-brews, hand-crafted cocktails with house-infused spirits and the exquisite selection of local wines, including their own signature wine blend, DRG’s Relentless Red, made by Townshend Cellar. By offering delicious menu items at affordable prices, paired with outstanding customer service, we quickly became a local favorite, and was voted SPOKANE’S BEST NEW RESTAURANT by The Inlander Reader's Poll. Since then, we have been honored with several more awards and recognitions, including RESTAURANT OF THE YEAR by the Washington Restaurant Association, FORK IN CORK award for the last four years running, and EPICUREAN DELIGHT 2007 and 2014. It’s no secret that we pride ourselves as a casual neighborhood restaurant with a fine-dining feel. Couple that with our commitment to quality and desire to develop delicious and unique dishes—and it’s no wonder that for more than a decade, locals have been coming back for more. Come and dine with us and let us give you a taste that is uniquely, and deliciously the best in Spokane.
